He sido sorprendido por esta exposici\u00f3n y me encuentro abatido cuando me visita el escritor F\u00e9lix Mara\u00f1a para pedirme estas l\u00edneas. Creo que ha habido complicidad con la Caixa de Txomin Badiola y j\u00f3venes escultores vascos que, desde hace alg\u00fan tiempo, ven\u00edan escribiendo sobre la relaci\u00f3n del escultor alem\u00e1n Beuys conmigo. Todos, implicados en una conclusi\u00f3n de la vanguardia hist\u00f3rica \u00faltima como servicio educacional y social. Esto ha sido el constructivismo ruso, en la primera posguerra, y el constructivismo vasco, en la segunda, como complemento del ruso.<br \/>\nEn el cat\u00e1logo de la Caixa hablo de posmodernidad en cultura art\u00edstica. He dicho y sostengo que la posmodernidad es la renuncia a la utop\u00eda; que el posmoderno ya fue hecho antes, pero en serio. El posmoderno es un repaso al arte contempor\u00e1neo; una lecci\u00f3n fuera de horas; una clase extra.<br \/>\nHe sido considerado, creo que con raz\u00f3n, como el \u00fanico artista de la segunda vanguardia hist\u00f3rica, aun todav\u00eda no enterrado, pero ya afectiva, voluntaria y gozosamente muerto. Entre mi muerte que ya ocurri\u00f3 y mi entierro que vendr\u00e1 suceder\u00e1n, no obstante, muchas cosas. Otras ya han sucedido. La primera, el gran fracaso del arte contempor\u00e1neo. Un fracaso pol\u00edtico, porque no se devolvi\u00f3 su propiedad al pueblo, a trav\u00e9s de un proceso de ense\u00f1anza, de un proceso pedag\u00f3gico. Eso hubiera sido el arte popular; como resultante, el arte nuevo, y estas exposiciones, en vez de hacerse en salas, se har\u00edan en la escuela, entre profesores y nenes. Pero los artistas, seres de sensibilidad privilegiada, han preferido guardarse para s\u00ed el poder, y se ha creado una clase de artista con privilegio, por cierto, y a la vez explotado por el tr\u00e1fico, el comercio, la galer\u00eda. He dicho antes constructivismo,pero debo decir reconstructivismo, porque de lo que se trata es de reconstruir el pa\u00eds.<br \/>\nSi Euskadi hubiera tenido gobierno en cultura, el espacio cultural vasco ser\u00eda el primero hoy en la Europa de Estrasburgo. Todo se resume a decir que aqu\u00ed no todos somos de ETA. Pues hay que decir qu\u00e9 somos. He aceptado mi muerte, pero, qu\u00e9 horror, voy a ir a la inauguraci\u00f3n; tendr\u00e9 que hablar, saludar, despu\u00e9s de 30 a\u00f1os, en que abandon\u00e9 la escultura.<br \/>\nHoy resido en el mundo invisible preindoeuropeo y vasco, y en esa breve cuartilla de escritura de protecci\u00f3n o dios de papel, que es la poes\u00eda, en la que me he refugiado no para llegar a los hombres, sino para huir definitivamente.
